Data Protection Statement

For berlinovo protection of your private sphere is of the utmost importance. For this reason we comply precisely with the statutory regulations on data protection when collecting and using your data. It is also important to us to inform you here exactly about the use and storage of your data on this website.

1.   General Points
1.1 What is person-specific data?

The meaning of the term "person-specific data" is given in the German Data Protection Law. According to this, the term refers to individual details on the personal or objective relationships of a specific or identifiable natural person. Such details include, for example, your name, your address, your telephone number and your date of birth.

1.2 Anonymous Data Acquisition

Except where otherwise indicated in the following passages, on principle no person-specific data is collected, processed or used in connection with the utilization of our websites. On calling up our websites some information is transferred, e.g. IP-address, type and version of the web browser used, the operating system used, the website from which you have come and the time of your visit.

This data cannot be used by us to identify the individual users. The information is evaluated by us purely statistically and is used only to improve the attractiveness, content and functionality of our websites.

1.3 Collection and Processing of Person-Specific Data

Person-specific data is only recorded by us if you disclose this to us and if it is necessary for making use of our services. For example, we collect person-specific data if you want to rent/buy an apartment / a commercial property from us or if you apply for a job or for training with us. If you contact us using our contact forms this takes place via coded connection. If you send us an e-mail via the envelope icon, this is uncoded.

Person-specific data transferred to us in this way is, of course, used by us solely for the purpose for which you disclose it to us at the time of contact. No farther-reaching use is made without your explicit consent.

1.4 No Transfer of Data to a Third Party

No data is transferred to a third party unless we are legally obliged to do so. To the extent that external service companies come into contact with your person-specific data, we have legal, technical and organizational measures, and regular controls, to ensure that they observe the regulations of the data protection laws.

1.5 Information

We are happy to give you information on whether and which person-specific data of yours is stored by us. Subject to the prerequisites of the regulations of the German Data Protection Law you can furthermore enforce a right to correction, blockage or deletion of this data. On request we will also be pleased to allow you access to our public list procedures in which we have summarized the necessary details in keeping with section § 4e of BDSG [German Data Protection Law].

2.   Tenants and Potential Tenants
2.1 Contact Enquiries

If you want to know more about our lease properties or if you are already a tenant and have questions about the existing lease relationship, you can use the contact field or can contact the tenant service. The transfer of data takes place via a coded connection. We then use your data to contact you.

Where we ask on our contact form for details that are not absolutely necessary for the purpose of processing your enquiry, these are marked as optional. Optional details help us to further specify your enquiry and to improve our handling of it. Disclosures of such details are explicitly made on a voluntary basis and with your consent. Where these details have to do with channels of communication (such as e-mail address, or telephone number) you also consent to our contacting you via this channel of communication, to answer your enquiry.

You can, of course, revoke your declaration of consent at any time with effect as to the future. To this end please contact our data-protection appointee, whose contact data can be found below.

2.2 Tenant Account

As a tenant you will be given access by us to your personal tenant account. Here you will find your incidental expenses statement. You can call up this statement at any time, provided you have identified yourself by means of your tenant number and the input of a PIN code. The transfer of the data takes place via a coded connection.

2.3 Apartment

As an employee, or a company on behalf of your employees, you can submit the necessary documents for the lease of an apartment on our website.
The data is forwarded with an encrypted connection.
We are thus informed about personal data, which is deleted if a contract is not completed.
We can inquire about the availability of the apartment in advance by telephone, email, post or in the letting agency.
For the lease, we require different data from you, which is of course only processed for the completion of the rental contract.

3.   Career and Training

You can send a job application to our company by post or by electronic means. Your details will be used by us solely for processing your application and will not be passed on to a third party. Please note that e-mails sent uncoded are not protected against unauthorized access.

We therefore recommend use of the program 7zip or Adobe Acrobat, in each case with password protection. The respective password should be sent separately.

4.   Technical Points
4.1 Cookies

For statistical evaluation we make use of cookies. Cookies are files that can be placed on the hard disk of your computer and that serve to make navigation easier. They avoid the necessity that with every new use, all the necessary data must be input again. Cookies help us to adapt our website to precisely your requirements, e.g. your national language or preferred areas of interest. If you do not want this, you can switch off the acceptance of cookies by your computer. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but offer the possibility of rejecting cookies or of giving a warning before storing them. For information on how all this functions individually, please read the instructions of your browser manufacturer.

4.2 Google Analytics

We hereby draw attention to the fact that on this website Google Analytics has been extended by the code "gat._anonymizeIp();" to ensure an anonymized recording of IP addresses (so-called IP masking).

Please also note the following information on the use of Google Analytics:

This website makes use of Google Analytics, a web-analysis service from Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer and permit an analysis to be made of your use of the website. The information created by the cookies on your use of this website is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

If the IP-anonymize function on this website is activated, however, your IP address will first be shortened by Google, within the member countries of the European Union or in other contracting states that were party to the agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. At the order of the operator of this website Google makes use of this information to evaluate your use of the website, to prepare reports on the website activities and to provide further website-utilization and Internet-related services vis-à-vis the operator of the website.

The IP address transferred by your browser within the framework of Google Analytics is not brought together with other Google data. You can prevent the storage of the cookies by adjusting your browser-software settings appropriately. In this case, however, we draw your attention to the fact that you may not then be fully able to use all of the functions of this website. You can also prevent the acquisition of the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) by Google, and its processing by Google, in that you download and install the browser plug-in.

Your can prevent the recording by Google Analytics by clicking the following link, which will set an opt-out cookie that prevents future recording of your data during your visit to this website: "Google Analytics deaktivieren" [Deactivate Google Analytics].

Farther-reaching information relating to terms of use and data protection can be found under http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or under https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/.

We have taken extensive technical and business-protection measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction and access by unauthorized persons. Our security procedures are regularly checked and adapted to account for technological progress.
